me
The summer of 2000 I was deep in Cisco CCNA courseware and Macromedia Flash classes, chasing the idea that networks and motion graphics could live in the same toolkit. In 2001 my brother and I fed emus for a neighbor for about four months so we could save up and set up a home network (10 Mbps through a hub) just so we could game together. By 2003 I was teaching myself audio mixing, motion photography, and video capture at home. My first DAW was FL Studio, my first NLE was Sonic Foundry Vegas (before Sony bought it), and my first camcorder was a Sony DCR-TRV17. I was also running stop-motion experiments with a cheap webcam, just to see what I could pull out of consumer gear.
That curiosity turned into a string of real jobs. Community media in Santa Rosa, managing a county-wide fiber network and a non-profit studio full of Macs, edit bays, and a recording booth. A short stint doing LTO backup at Agilent. Four years as a Mac Genius at Apple in the smallest store on the west coast. Asset and support work that took me through shops like Oracle's marketing department, then consulting around Napa and the tri-counties: wineries, restaurants, design studios, whoever needed someone who got both the gear and the people using it. In 2017 I packed up and moved to Los Angeles. The rest of that chapter lives on the consult page.
Writing came with me too. I am working on a grounded sci-fi trilogy, with the first screenplay nearing completion, along with a short film that takes place one year after the events of the first feature.
The music never really left either. Fluent drummer and pianist. Highly skilled in Logic Pro, Reason, and FL Studio, with 23+ years of learning mixing concepts since 2003. I produce rock, country, alternative, ambient, soul, funk, house, trance, and electro, and I have DJ'd and MC'd weddings along the way.
